Portraits of Stephen and Carolyn Tripp Clement
Clement House/Red Cross Building
786 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, N.Y.

Both oil portraits now hang in the original music room of Clement House.

The portrait of Carolyn Tripp Clement is by Cecelia Beaux; it was restored by Stephen Merrell Clement III, a great-grandson.

The painting of Stephen Clement hung at the Marine National Bank board room (and in subsequent rooms). It may have been painted by Edmund C. Tarbell (1862-1938).  It, too, was restored by Stephen Merrell Clement III, a great-grandson. It was unveiled on September 21, 2013, in celebration of the house's centennial. Great-grandson Peter Clement presented a family history (on YouTube) before the unveiling.

Carolyn Tripp Clement raised her children in the house without her husband who died during construction. (Her next door neighbor, Grace Millard Knox, was also a widow raising her children.)

The painting of Stephen Clement was unveiled, after restoration, on September 21, 2013, in celebration of the house's centennial.
