Mrs.,. Bernice K. Isaacson, a Buffalo native had won critical renown as a writer and poet.

Mrs. Isaacson's first novel, entitled All the Young Summer Days, was published in 1953, and is set on the Lake Erie shore on a beach reached by ferry, a composite of places she knew as a girl in the Buffalo area.

Honey From a Dark Hive was published in 1956 and The Mothers in 1958.

Mrs. Isaacson won two Avery Hopwood awards, for poetry and drama. Her husband, William J. Isaacson, was a New York attorney.

Mrs. Isaacson was 50 years old at the time of her death. She had been living in New York City.
