Oakfield Club The Oakfield Club was the largest private club on Grand island. In the early 1900's it had 400 members. The steamer Lorelei carried guests to and from Buffalo. It was 3 stories with much Victorian gingerbread. Under the many trees surrounding it there were cottages for some of the more prominent members. It suffered two fires and membership declined. It was on the "gold coast."
