Buffalo Mayors - The City Hall Portrait Collection
1832-1846

The bulk of the City Hall Collection of Buffalo Mayoral Portraits is presently housed in the mayor's outer office. The condition of the portraits depends on several factors, including age. (At one point a deranged man intentionally damaged some of the portraits.)

As of July 2002, ten portraits have been restored. The Buffalo Arts Commission, under the direction of David Granville, is having five portraits restored annually.

All of the paintings that are presently on display and others that are in storage awaiting restoration have been photographed. Other photos will be added as the portraits become available.
