Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

The monastery is easily found by looking for the clock tower on the harbor front. The monastery is built of marble blocks that were hacked out of the Temple of Poseidon on the island of nearby Poros. Undistinguished 19th-century frescoes, but the elaborate 18th-century marble inconostasis (altar screen) was taken from another church off the island.
