584 West Ferry
Buffalo, New York

Abstract Expressionist Pat Jacoby Harris chose a fine, west side Queen Anne style 1901 house to display her paintings. She sees no conflict between the old and the new.

According to Nancy Mingus, John Coxhead did the interior remodel of this building in 1903 for $3,000

Pat Jacoby Harris was born in Peekskill, NY on September 15, 1940, and grew up in the Hudson Valley. Her aptitude for Art was apparent at an early age, and she pursued various forms of study in high school, continuing to expand and nurture her methods of expression with study of painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and print making at the SUNY College of Art Education Program at Buffalo, NY.

There she discovered abstract expression and began to find a direction for the further development of her own visual language. A semester spent in Sienna, Italy, enriched her background knowledge of fresco painting, ceramics, Italian culture, and Art History. A stay in Paris included a memorable visit to the Dorthea Tanning Exhibit there.

She lived in New York City in the 1960's, where she married, and began raising a son. She continued painting and drawing always, her work taking a more individual abstract direction during this period.

In the 1970's and early 1980's, she went back to live in Buffalo, continuing to produce paintings and drawings, and actively exhibiting her work there.
